League Wide FAQ
The boundaries of RBLL consist of: Prospect Ave to the east, S 107th St to the South, California Avenue to the West from 107th St to 99th St, and Western Avenue from 99th to 87th St to the North.
While experience with baseball/softball or coaching is always valuable, it is not required. All help is appreciated. Our website platform, Sports Connect, has a large library of coaching training content to help learn the basics of the game.
RBLL, in conjunction with the Chicago White Sox Uniform Program, will provide each player with a jersey, pants, socks, and a hat. All teams will have a Sox logo on their uniforms but in different colors than the other teams in their leagues. Please note that while we will be able to fulfill exact sizes for pants and socks, jerseys are ordered months in advance and we do the best we can to align sizes but your child might not get the exact size ordered for them. Families need to provide their own helmet (for health reasons), a glove, and a bat. Molded baseball spikes are recommended but not required. Athletic cups are required for boys playing catcher (Peewee level and over).
For 2025, regular season games will be scheduled from April 2nd to June 14th. For leagues with playoffs, playoffs will be from June 16th to June 21st. The number of games varies depending on scheduling but is usually between 12-14 games. Rainouts are rescheduled as much as possible, but the end date of the season will not change to account for regular-season rainouts.
For 2025, Tee Ball and Coach Pitch registration is $135 per child. All other leagues are $160.
In the past, the league has worked with the Windy City Thunderbolts in Crestwood to schedule a game per team at their stadium as a significant fundraiser for the league. This is usually the kids’ favorite day of the year. This fundraiser is still TBD for 2025 depending on Thunderbolts participation.
Registration ends on February 21st, at which point work will immediately begin to create teams for the TBall/Coach Pitch/Minors Softball Divisions, you can expect to hear from your coaches within the first two weeks of March. For older divisions, drafts will be held in the first two weeks of March and Coaches will reach out following those drafts..
